How it's calculated
One roll's area is its width × length. The wastage allowance reduces the usable area to account for pattern matching and trimming. The wall area divided by usable area per roll, rounded up, gives the number of rolls.
Rolls = ⌈wall area ÷ (roll area × (1 − wastage))⌉. Order all rolls from the same batch for a matching shade.
Frequently asked questions
Should I deduct doors/windows?
For small openings the wastage covers it; for large ones, reduce the wall area.
Why buy from one batch?
Shades vary between print batches, so order together and keep a spare roll.
Big patterns?
Large repeats waste more — push the allowance to 20%+ to be safe.
